I Rode a Roller Coaster

I rode a roller coaster
It was 120,000 meters long.

It took 10 hours
And reached up to the sky
So we wore helmets to protect.

When the ride was over
My stomach felt like jelly
Wobbling all over from all the corners.

As I got out I was glad to be on ground
Because that was the scariest ride.

When can I go again?

            Licking 100 year old snail
I did dare to lick a snail
it tasted like rotten vomit.
It had a piece of chips.
The snail was orange and green.
When I licked the snail it cried hard-core.
I then thought of vomiting.
The snail then cried and cracked its shell.
White things started to
come out.
Then finally my mouth tasted like rotten ginger and garlic mixed together.
I then went for another taste it tasted the same but with manure.

Death by chocolate

Once we were going to a chocolate café.
I just couldn't wait because of all the yummy things we were going to taste.

I had been there before and I was bursting with excitement.
All the things I could eat I just couldn't imagine how it would be!

When we reached the mall, we were lost like we were in the middle of nowhere.
When we finally found the café, all the chocolate around me,
It was like chocolate heaven.
We got chocolate slices, chocolate drinks and chocolates
Almost everything!

We really enjoyed it .
My sister
Stopped eating half way, because it was too much chocolate.
When we got out we were so full.
We couldn't eat another single piece of chocolate.
We really would love to do it again.

So that was the Death by chocolate!

First ideas about Adaptation

Sanitarium

Creating our names with fruits and veges

At Eat your Words workshop we had to create our own name with veges and fruit. The Sanitarium people gave us a chopping board and a knife. Jemma gave us instructions. Jemma said to us we had to create our name with fruits and veges. Then we started creating our names with the fruits and veges. I felt really excited when I first put my first letter down. I used celery, mandarin peel, kiwi, banana skin and a sliced carrot.  When we finished Jemma took pictures of our names. Jemma said we could take the veges and fruits from our names and cook it but none of us wanted so we ate them. At the end it was fantastic and I really enjoyed.

Welcome to Term 3, 2014

Dear Parents,

We are now situated in Room 24 (old Tupulaga block) for 1-2 terms as the Kotahitanga building is undergoing some repairs.
Please drop and pick up your child from Room 24 next to the field.
Our inquiry topic is “Adaptation”. Our students are aware of the inquiry process which includes: 1.Deciding 2. Finding 3.Using 4. Recording 5. Presenting 6. Evaluating

Your support for their research would be appreciated, visits to the library, internet browsing and so on.

We will be visiting Auckland as part of our topic studies. I need your support to come to the zoo to take care of the students. The ratio is 1:6 so I need 5 Parent helpers. I will let you know the date of our visit shortly. It will be first five parents who send their forms quickly.

Regards
Patricia Gattu

Human Chain

Today rooms 14,18,28 and 26 were making a line that was huge the reason all these  rooms made a huge line was because we were moving the resources to a temporary container. The teachers were helping as well. Teachers were helping because it was hard work. We all worked together as a team to finish the job. We passed the books and boxes to the person next to us. It was really tiring some people kept on dropping the boxes because they were too heavy it was really fun. It was really cold and freezing.
