Can you answer these questions about adaptations?

Who has a hump that stores fat and long eyelashes to protect from sand?

Who has special toe pads that help it climb up smooth and vertical surfaces?

Who has a long neck to reach leaves high up in the trees?

Who has a strong tail that helps navigate it through the swamp?

Who shoots out black ink to escape predators?

Who wears armour and rolls up into a ball for protection?

Who has long arms to swing from tree to tree?

Who secretes mucus to prevent it from drying out?

Who has long legs to run super-fast?

Who can change colours to blend into its surroundings?

Who uses whistles, sounds, and echolocation underwater to communicate?

Who has a hard shell and pinches for protection?

Who has eyes on the side of its head to see predators?

Who has large ears that flap to swat flies and help it stay cool?

Who has a pouch to carry its young?

Who has cheek pouches to carry nuts?

Who has fancy feathers to attract a mate?

Who has strong, long teeth used to know trees?

Who has a shell for protection against predators?

Did you know that the lightest mammal is the Etruscan shrew. It is a tiny rodent that looks a little a miniature mouse. It weights only 1.8 grams - even less than a paperclip.

Human Art - Mathematics Week

Room 14's Human Art

We had a human art challenge.
Divide the class into groups of 8 and each student has a number from 1 to 4.

Your number corresponds to your action/shape:
e.g.
Number 1: Stand like a solider

Number 2: Stand like a star

Number 3: Stand with a triangle.

Number 4:Stand like a circle.

Solve the problem : What would be the 40th shape?
It is a star. We had so much fun with human art.

The Tuck Shop Prize Winners

 Tuck Shop
 Prize

On Friday 1 of August there was a new tuck shop menu. It was a day special for the food carnival. The prices were reduced so more students could order food. Whatever class that had the most lunch orders would win a prize. Room 14 has the highest number of lunch orders and we WON.
When we found out we had won it was very exciting. We had a photo with the lunch from the company that supplied us with the lunch orders.
We opened all the prizes and we got Uno stacko, Hedbandz, Ker Plunk and Parrot Pile Up. It also came with some balloons and lollypops. Room14 is enjoying all the games.
