St John's at Rosebank School

We had  hands on actives with St Johns people. We learnt lots of things about taking care of the people in an emergency.

Before we could help that person we need to look for any dangers like broken glass, slippery surfaces, sharp objects, etc
Next we look for a response. See if he/she can respond to our call
Then call 111 and tell the ambulance people the address of where the unconscious person is and tell his/her condition.
Lift his/her chin so their airway is clear.
Check if the person is breathing or not.

If someone has a cut in their hand this is what we have to do:
Lift the hand up and plug the cloth where the bleeding is. Then get a bandage and wrap it around the wrist and the hand until the bandage is done.
Make sure that your fingers can't come out.

Extinction of Tigers

Tigers are almost extinct because of us. Tigers prefer to live in Jungles or forest. 3 subspecies are already extinct.

There are 2 main reasons why Tigers are disappearing. Firstly, their territories are getting chopped down to build more farming land and cities and leaving the tigers homeless and starving. Another reason is because of poaching. Poaching is an illegal hunting of animals which happens all the time.

Tigers get killed a lot for their fur to make coats, their eyes are used as goodluck charms and their bones are used for chinese medicine.
Let's not kill tigers for our pleasure but leave them alone so they can live like us.
