St John's at Rosebank School

We had  hands on actives with St Johns people. We learnt lots of things about taking care of the people in an emergency.

Before we could help that person we need to look for any dangers like broken glass, slippery surfaces, sharp objects, etc
Next we look for a response. See if he/she can respond to our call
Then call 111 and tell the ambulance people the address of where the unconscious person is and tell his/her condition.
Lift his/her chin so their airway is clear.
Check if the person is breathing or not.

If someone has a cut in their hand this is what we have to do:
Lift the hand up and plug the cloth where the bleeding is. Then get a bandage and wrap it around the wrist and the hand until the bandage is done.
Make sure that your fingers can't come out.

  1. It looks like you learnt some very valuable lessons with St John Ambulance. I like how you have added some captions to your photos to inform your audience of what to do in a particular emergency, Keep up the great posting on your blog, room 14. from Mrs Robyns
